In 1998, the Rotary Clubs of Queanbeyan and Queanbeyan West decided to sponsor a new Rotary Club based in Jerrabomberra, NSW.  Bill Lilley, John Snedden and Peter Jarvis from Queanbeyan West took on the joint role of mentor, with Peter Jarvis going on to become the Charter President.

Advertising for potential members began in March 1998.  After a successful campaign, the Club was chartered on 18 November 1998 with 29 members.  The Club is unique within Rotary, having more females than men, and also having quite a number of couples.

Initial meetings were held at the Jerrabomberra General Store - the venue was very good until the Club grew in numbers.  The Club now meets at the Jerrabomberra Community Centre, on Thursdays at 0630pm.  As at 8 September 2005, the Club included 32 members - 17 female and 15 male.

(Charter) President Peter ran competitions to select the name four the Club Bulletin, and a design for the Club banner.  There was a variety of suggestions of variable merit.  Pam Spencer suggested the winning name for the Bulletin, Jerraganda.  The banner design by David Stevens was eventually selected.  The design incorporate a goose and a windmill, which were both associated with the original estate entrance.
